Sharing a link with someone outside of PATH forces them to log in with PATH credentials they don't have

Problem

If you share a link to a file or a folder with someone outside of PATH the recipient may be asked to log int with PATH credentials, even if they are not PATH employees.  This is caused by setting the permissions to "People in your company".

Solution

When sharing a file or folder with a link, make sure to select the "People with the link" option.  This will allow anyone, anywhere, to open the link.

In the example below, we're sharing a file using the Box for Office plug-in in Outlook. When you select the level of access for the file or folder, select People with the link.

If you want to restrict access to the file or folder so nobody outside of PATH can open it, then select People in your company. This prompts recipients to log in with PATH credentials before they can view the file. NOTE: The recipient must have an active Box account to use this option.
