A Direct Access connection is a form of always-on VPN connection that lets you access PATH resources, from anywhere with an internet connection, without first having to manually connect to VPN.  Here's how to tell if you have a Direct Access connection established.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to your wireless network settings, near the system time.

  2. At the top of the connection list you should see the Workplace Connection with the status: Connected.  This indicates you have a direct connection to PATH secure, internal network.  This should connect automatically, as long as you have an Internet connection.

  3. You can further verify your connection by clicking the Workplace Connection above to view the Direct Access settings.
