Outlook and Microsoft Search are Deactivated

Problem

Windows search has stopped working and Outlook search does not function correctly.

 

Solution

Restart the Windows search Service:

  1. Go to Start →  All Programs → Accessories, open Run, type Services.msc and press <Enter>. 
  2. In the Services window go to the right panel and navigate to Windows search service. Right click Windows search and go to Properties. 
  3. In Properties window choose Startup type: Automatic (Delayed Start) from a pull down menu if not already there.
  4. Under Service status: choose Stop button and then Start button or just click Start button if the current status is Stopped.

Check the result using search in Outlook.
