Tableau Version Numbers
Since mid-2018 Tableau version numbers have the following format:
<year>.<# of major release in that year>.<# of minor (maintenance release) for that major release>
- The first major release of 2019 is 2019.1.0, the first minor/maintenance release for that will be 2019.1.1, the second 2019.1.2, etc.
- Major releases are roughly quarterly and minor releases are roughly monthly.
- For Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server there are releases of minor releases for earlier major releases, for example in February 2019 Tableau released the major release 2019.1.0 along with minor releases 2018.3.3, 2018.2.6, 2018.1.9, etc.
