How do staff with their own laptops and personal devices connect to their PATH email, PATHnet, and L Drive?

Contractors, consultants, interns and temps who bring in their own laptop (PC or Mac) cannot directly access the secured PATH network or the PATH wireless network.  This helps protect the network from malware and viruses.

Consultants who need access from their own computers use the same method PATH employees use with their personal computers – They connect to the GUEST-WiFi and use their OKTA dashboard (work.path.org) to access their email and other applications.  L Drive access is not available without a PATH provided laptop.  You can view the GUEST WiFi procedures here as well as the GUEST WiFi acceptable use policy here.

If an intern, contractor, temp or consultant just needs email, calendar then logging into Office365 (OWA) is usually sufficient.

Printing

Currently it's not possible for temporary staff using personal computers to print in a PATH office.  Printers are on a secured network, only accessible from the PATH wireless network or using a wired connection.  The Xerox multi-function copiers support printing certain documents saved on a USB flash drive formatted using the FAT32 file system.  Please see How to Format a Flash Drive for more information on formatting your flash drive.  The documents must be saved as PDF or XPS documents for the copiers to print them.  The copiers will not print .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt or .pptx documents.  If you have questions about printing to a Xerox copier please contact Facilities.
